Dargaville Community CCTV Project
The Dargaville Community CCTV Project has been developed to create a safe place to work, play, do business, visit and live in and around Dargaville. The first stage of the Project was completed in 2018 with installation of CCTV cameras in and around the central business district of Dargaville together with the infrastructure required and equipment set up at Dargaville Police Station. This aspect of the Project has been funded through community grants and all future assets will be purchased and installed through grant applications. To ensure the Project is an enduring and sustainable one, a Kaipara District Council targeted rate is in place.
The DCDB and New Zealand Police have invested much time and energy into getting the CCTV Project established to date and it's sustainability and longevity are dependent on the adoption of the targeted rate for ongoing costs and maintenance.
Dargaville Community CCTV Project is a proactive means to support public safety and, in collaboration with New Zealand Police, will contribute to the safety and wellbeing of our residents, families, children, visitors, and tourists. There will be a series of articles in the Kaipara Lifestyler over the next couple of months, and in DCDB newsletters, providing more information about the CCTV Project. However, if you have any questions, email us at info@dcdb.nz.
